Lovell Drugs Brock is looking for a full-time Assistant Front Store Manager to join our team in Kingston, Ontario.

What We're Looking For:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Front Store Manager who possesses the following skills:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate teams and support a positive customer and employee experience. 
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment. 
  • Strong customer service, communication, and conflict resolution skills. 
  • Business and operational acumen with the ability to interpret store metrics and support performance improvements. 
  • Knowledge of compliance, confidentiality, health and safety, and standard operating procedures within a retail or pharmacy setting. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly, solve problems effectively, and work collaboratively across departments. 

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Support and help lead initiatives that advance the store’s strategic objectives.
  • Support daily store operations across both the pharmacy and front store to ensure service, merchandising, workflow, and operational standards are consistently achieved. 
  • Adhere to and promote the Neighbourly Pharmacy policy manual, fostering a positive work environment that attracts, retains, and engages employees.
  • Assist in supervising, hiring, coaching, scheduling, and developing team members to promote engagement, accountability, and high performance. 
  • Monitor store performance indicators such as sales, shrink, labour, service levels, and operational productivity, and support action plans to improve results. 
  • Partner with pharmacy leadership to support dispensary workflow, patient service, inventory practices, and compliance with applicable professional, legal, and company requirements.
  • Assist with inventory management, receiving, replenishment, ordering, cycle counts, and stock accuracy for both pharmacy support areas and front store departments. 
  • Ensure store adherence to health and safety procedures, cash handling controls, privacy expectations, security standards, and all applicable regulatory requirements. 
  • Serve as a key leader on duty and assume responsibility for the store in the absence of the Pharmacy Manager or other designated leader.  
  • Work collaboratively with HR to support hiring, discipline, and termination activities as needed.
  • Verify and investigate insurance coverage, benefits, eligibility, co-payments, deductibles, and prior authorization requirements. 
  • Complete, submit, and follow up on all required forms and documentation within established timelines. 
  • Liaise with private and public insurance providers to determine available coverage options and reimbursement pathways. 
  • Remain current on changes to insurance coverage and reimbursement policies and communicate relevant updates to patients and healthcare providers. 
  • Miscellaneous tasks to support the Store Operator/Pharmacy Manager and District Director.

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Postsecondary education in business, retail management, healthcare, pharmacy, or a related field is considered an asset. 
  • Minimum 2 to 3 years of leadership experience in retail, pharmacy, or a customer-facing operational environment is preferred. 
  • Experience supporting pharmacy operations, regulated environments, or health-related retail settings is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated experience in team supervision, scheduling, coaching, and performance support.
  • Strong people management and interpersonal skills, including motivation, delegation, conflict resolution, active listening, and respectful communication.
  • Professional attitude with excellent communication skills for interacting with customers, staff, and suppliers.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control, merchandising practices, cash handling, and operational compliance. 
  • Comfort working with store systems, point-of-sale tools, Microsoft Office applications, and pharmacy or retail management systems. 
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by store operations. 
  • Valid driver’s licence required.
  • Criminal Record Check required

 

 

Schedule: 

  • 40 hours per week.
  • The store operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
  • Regular shifts are scheduled within these days and hours.
