The North Carolina League of Municipalities (NCLM) has an exciting career opportunity for an experienced Event Manager! This position will play a key role on the Strategic Communications and Member Engagement team. The successful candidate will have at least 3-5 years of demonstrated experience in conference planning. The Event Manager will work on developing and executing physical and virtual event planning for the League and our affiliate organizations. This role is responsible for managing the full event lifecycle, including planning, logistics, execution, and post-event evaluation across a variety of event types including multi-day conferences, trade shows, webinars and specialty events.

Additional Duties Include:

  • Coordinating all event logistics including, but not limited to: venue selection/virtual platform management, logistics management (i.e. rooming lists, transportation, meals, etc.), speaker and staffing coordination, vendor management, conference sponsorships.
  • End-to-end management and coordination of webinars using on- demand tools e.g. Zoom and other third-party vendors, including tasks related to set-up, promotion and execution.
  • Providing support for on-site events as needed; handle logistical tasks including shipments, registrations, team prep, travel, signage set-up and take-down, etc.
  • Coordination of all of the above in collaboration various NCLM department staff, member groups as needed, partnering organizations, etc.
  • Assist in the creation of event creative assets, messaging, collateral and giveaways, and signage and/or booth design, working in collaboration with the broader communications team
  • Managing events calendar, setting up event registration, and assisting with internal awareness/promotion utilizing communication tools (intranet, calendar, Teams, email, etc.)

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in communications, hospitality, public relations marketing, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 3-5 years of demonstrated conference planning experience is preferred.
