Job Summary

The Landscaping Staff is responsible for maintaining the appearance, cleanliness, and health of lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs, and outdoor areas. The role involves performing routine landscaping tasks, operating landscaping equipment, and ensuring all grounds are safe, attractive, and well-maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Mow, trim, and edge lawns and landscaped areas.
• Plant, water, fertilize, and maintain flowers, shrubs, trees, and other vegetation.
• Remove weeds, dead plants, leaves, and debris from grounds.
• Prune trees, hedges, and shrubs to maintain appearance and healthy growth.
• Operate and maintain landscaping equipment such as lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers, hedge cutters, and watering systems.
• Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides safely and according to company procedures.
• Assist with landscape construction projects, including planting, mulching, and installing irrigation systems.
• Monitor plant health and report pest infestations, disease, or irrigation problems.
• Maintain walkways, parking lots, and outdoor common areas in a clean and safe condition.
• Follow all safety policies and use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
• Perform other grounds maintenance duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Training in landscaping, horticulture, or grounds maintenance is an advantage.

Experience

• Previous landscaping, gardening, groundskeeping, or outdoor maintenance experience preferred.
• Experience operating landscaping equipment.

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic knowledge of plants, trees, and lawn care practices.
• Ability to safely operate landscaping tools and machinery.
• Understanding of workplace safety procedures.
• Good teamwork and communication skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work extended periods performing manual labor.
• Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and landscaping equipment.

Working Conditions

• Outdoor work environment.
• Exposure to heat, rain, dust, insects, and noise.
• May require early morning, weekend, or holiday work depending on operational needs.

Performance Expectations

• Maintain grounds to established company standards.
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
• Properly care for and maintain landscaping equipment.
• Demonstrate reliability, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
• Adhere to all company safety and environmental procedures.
