The Manager, Operations leads 1st shift for NDC’s Master Distribution operation in La Vergne, TN. This position leads a team of 70 people, including 3 supervisors and 1 trainer as direct reports. Activities encompass receiving, putaway, picking, packing, and shipping. The Manager, Operations is responsible for ensuring excellence in customer experience, a safe workplace, operational efficiencies and financial performance, building a high-performing team and positive work environment, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and quality management system standards. This role will also partner with key stakeholders across the company.

Key Responsibilities

Achieve the safety, customer experience, quality, cost, continuous improvement, talent management, compliance, and inventory accuracy objectives. Ensure metrics and leading indicators are reviewed at the appropriate cadence. Analyze variances, understand root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Support business growth by fully understanding new customer business requirements and implementation plans. Ensure the right people, processes, IT enablement, and metrics are in place to execute flawlessly.
Create the conditions that enable team members to succeed, learn, and enjoy their work. Provide ongoing development, coaching, and performance management. Build a high-performing and empowered team.
Lead the distribution center associates, partner with stakeholders across the company, and manage customer relationships in a manner where people consistently experience you in a positive way.
Champion continuous improvement and empower people within the distribution center and across the company to help identify opportunities, develop and execute implementation plans, and drive meaningful improvements.
Achieve a safe workplace and culture that is OSHA compliant and by advocating training, safety talks and walks, and best practices.
Ensure compliance with regulatory (e.g., FDA) and ISO 9001 quality management system standards.
Make sure the physical condition of the distribution center and equipment are properly maintained.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
8+ years experience working in a distribution center with progressive responsibilities over time, including 5+ years leading people.
Experience working in a healthcare / medical / pharmaceutical distribution center is preferred.
Demonstrated track record of utilizing metrics and delivering results with respect to labor productivity, customer experience, quality, and safety.
Adept at building a high-performing team through team building, coaching and developing associates, motivating and inspiring team members, and assessing and managing associate performance against expectations.
Computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office, a warehouse management system (WMS), and an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system is required.
Experienced in creating, implementing, and sustaining standard operating procedures.
Firsthand experience working in an ISO 9001 certified facility is a plus.
Bi-lingual (English and Spanish) capability is a plus.
