This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (10) months.

Position Summary:

As a Broadcasting Assistant - Team & Player Engagement, you will play a key role in supporting day-to-day relationships with national broadcast partners and teams to maximize participation in broadcast initiatives. You will lead the organization, tracking, and record-keeping of operational data, including broadcast partner coverage plans, player/coach mic executions, and partner, player and team feedback. By maintaining detailed records and streamlining the flow of information, you will support seasonal planning and ensure alignment between network, league and team priorities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day operational relationships with national broadcast partners (e.g., ESPN, Amazon, NBC) and team public relations staff.

  • Assist in the creation, organization, tracking, and archiving of operational data, including coverage plans, schedules, memos and feedback throughout the NBA season.

  • Maintain detailed, season-long records to track participation trends and establish reliable operational benchmarks.

  • Review and analyze local NBA broadcasts for "best practices" highlighting areas of focus including storytelling, new technology and key production elements.

  • Work with the NBA’s broadcast partners on a variety of projects, including game/event production, best practices, and ancillary programming content (including the potential for onsite support).

  • Provide day-to-day support using our digital NBA Content Archive, clipping and distributing real-time links and updates involving NBA programming.

  • Contribute as needed as a liaison in the Broadcasting Operations Center for real-time production, programming, operations, and content updates.

  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, with a willingness to travel for games and events as needed.

Required Experience/Knowledge:

  • Communications or PR background preferred.

  • Excellent knowledge of NBA (players, coaches, and teams).

  • Knowledge of television industry/social media and streaming landscape; background in sports and/or television/broadcasting preferred.

  • Strong writing and communication skills

  • Microsoft Office expertise

Bachelor’s degree
