About this role
Role Purpose
The General Accountant is responsible for managing
day-to-day accounting operations for AL-TAREEQ, ensuring accurate, timely, and
compliant financial record keeping. This role supports financial reporting,
internal controls, and provides vital data to support management decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Record,
reconcile, and maintain general ledger entries for all companies
transactions (accruals, prepayments, amortizations, etc.).
- Process
accounts receivable and accounts payable: invoice generation, vendor
invoices, collections, payments.
- Bank
reconciliations and cash postings; monitor cash balances.
- Assist
with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes; prepare
adjusting journal entries.
- Support
preparation of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
and management reports.
- VAT,
tax and statutory compliance: ensure accurate VAT returns, withholding
tax, and other regulatory filings.
- Assist
in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis under guidance.
- Maintain
fixed assets register: depreciation, additions/disposals.
- Support
internal and external audits: preparation of schedules, responses, and
documentation.
- Ensure
accounting policies and procedures are followed; suggest improvements.
Requirements
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s
degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Minimum
3-5 years of accounting experience (industry experience desirable).
- Solid
understanding of Egyptian Accounting Standards / IFRS.
- Hands-on
experience with accounting software / ERP systems.
- Strong
Excel skills; ability to analyze data and prepare meaningful reports.
- Attention
to detail, accuracy and strong numerical skills.
- Good
organizational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and meet
deadlines.
- Good
communication skills, able to liaise with other departments.
