PRINTING SERVICES DESIGNER
About this role
Job Responsibilities & Tasks Duties include but are not limited to
Receive artwork inputs (such as CD, E-mail, physical sample etc) from Sales and Marketing department.
Art-work making:
Study the requirements based on received inputs (any format) from customers.
Start the artwork making activity using Adobe illustrator /Adobe photo shop /Box pro/ Coral draw, as appropriate with the guiding principles of machine parameters and technical capabilities.
Create the Rotopacking folder for each customer and keep the originally received customer format as it is, in relevant customer name and keep the modified (or) worked out file separately.
Start analyzing the printing requirements in-terms of pattern, color separation, trapping and color correction, as applicable.
Create the design using customer provided requirements using the software facilities and guidelines.
Upon completion, take print-out known as “Artwork” and initially cross check the correctness.
In JPEG /Pdf formats (as appropriate) e-mail to Sales and Marketing personnel for initiating customer approval
As required, interact with Sales and Marketing personnel/ customers for any correction / amendments / improvement requirements and get the suggestions /doubts clarified from customers.
Artwork making based on sample:
Scan the sample received from customer and start analyzing the scan copy for the design requirements as per above step #2.
Undertake the art-work correction / amendments / requirements for the repeat orders as per the above step
New Designs (development of new designs):
Whenever needed and requested, create new designs using creativity as guiding rules (from existing designs concepts could be taken) to meet customer’s business requirements and pass it to Sales and Marketing for further developments.
Ensure customer’s design code specification/design numbers in all communication with customers.
Plate Making Coordination:
Upon customer approval of artwork, initiate the plate making through transferring the file to CTP machine by ripping the colors (in dot format)
Verify availability of plates for processing, upon receiving the print plan
For die-cut orders, receive the die-layout (structural layout) to cross-check alignment of art-work (registration).
Ensure customer provided CD’s are kept safely for future reference.
Maintain the stock level for the embossing blocks and coordinate with purchasing for maintaining stocks.
Convert the conventional jobs into CTP process through generating the designs and get the customer approval.
