HSSE OFFICER
About this role
Responsibilities:
- Conducts periodical safety rounds around entire area of company premises for ensuring safe atmosphere and condition.
- Ensures plant & warehouses Safety and hygienic condition are maintained and reports deviation if any.
- Ensures plant related employees are wearing appropriate overalls/clothing’s and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
- Checks the Safe operation and condition of machineries across production area.
- Ensures perfect condition of fire-fighting equipments thru periodical maintenance and re-filling of equipments as applicable.
- Maintains necessary documents for recording the daily, weekly and monthly HSE inspection activities.
- Monitors the hot works & ensures they are carried out with due permission and safe condition across the plant (carried out by maintenance/contractor/third part etc).
- Coordinates with Security guards in line with visitors’ movements, keeping track of entry and exit to company premises etc.
- When required, conduct Safety & first-aid on the job trainings for new recruits.
- Participates in evacuation drills.
- Ensures the clear way to reach fire extinguisher and hose cabinets across company.
- Takes fire preventive measures on need basis especially during summer time.
- Monitors the condition of drainages/canals and ensure them against infestation thru pest control spray activities in coordination with department heads.
- Monitors cycle chart of the facility roof top, walls, light shadows, and electrical panels.
- Ensures the availability, and maintain first-aid equipments accessories.
- In case of any accident, provide if required first aid activities.
- Follows up on implementation of Occupational Health and Safety Policies, programs and procedures.
- Increases health and safety awareness at all levels within the organization.
- Investigates and reports all serious / critical personal injury accidents occurring to staff, visitors or contractors.
- Investigates accidents / incidents that result to a substantial damage to company properties.
- Responds to employees safety concerns.
- Responds immediately to fires and other emergency situations.
- Coordinates registration and removal of hazardous waste if any.
- Coordinates the training of personnel in areas of safety testing, including first aid, CPR, accident prevention and investigation, work place inspections and other matters related to implementing safety procedures in facilities.
- Assists executive staff, senior administrators, principals and supervisors and HSE team leader in emergency situations.
- Conducts operational risk assessments on site and designs risk mitigation measures.
- Generates and maintains all the required reports related to HSE management system, including corrective action and preventive measures.
- Provides HSE improvement proposals stating: the non-conformance, proposed corrective action, required resources for corrective action and plan of implementation.
