Application Engineer - Pumps (Oil & Gas)

Job Summary
NAFFCO is seeking a qualified and experienced Application Engineer – Oil & Gas to support the preparation of techno-commercial proposals for pump packages and firefighting systems within the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical bid evaluation, pump selection, proposal preparation, client coordination, and ensuring compliance with project specifications, international standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Review RFQs, inquiry packages, client specifications, datasheets, and tender documents to identify technical and commercial requirements.
Perform technical selection and sizing of centrifugal pumps, firefighting pumps, jockey pumps, and associated accessories based on project specifications.
Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals, quotations, cost estimates, and technical submittals.
Evaluate project requirements and ensure compliance with client specifications, contractual obligations, and applicable international standards.
Prepare technical clarification documents, deviation lists, and responses to client queries during the bidding and proposal stages.
Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Procurement, Production, and Project teams to ensure accurate and timely proposal submissions.
Participate in technical clarification meetings with clients, consultants, EPC contractors, and third-party inspection agencies.
Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including pre-award and post-award activities whenever required.
Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to obtain technical information, pricing, and compliance documentation.
Maintain technical records, proposal documentation, and project correspondence in accordance with company procedures.
Stay updated with Oil & Gas industry standards, client specifications, and emerging technologies related to pumping and firefighting systems.
Ensure all proposals are prepared in line with company quality standards and submission deadlines.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Engineering discipline.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in application engineering, proposal engineering, or technical sales support within the Oil & Gas industry.
Experience in pump package selection and firefighting systems is highly preferred.
Technical Skills
Strong knowledge of centrifugal pumps, firefighting pumps, jockey pumps, diesel engine-driven pumps, and associated auxiliary systems.
Familiarity with NFPA 20, API standards, and other relevant international codes applicable to pump systems.
Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, GA drawings, specifications, datasheets, and tender documents.
Experience in preparing technical submittals, compliance statements, deviation lists, and techno-commercial proposals.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; familiarity with AutoCAD and pump selection software will be an advantage.
