Role Overview

We are seeking a customer-focused and hands-on Service Coordinator (m/f/d) to join our Service Department in Schiedam, Netherlands. In this role, you will coordinate international service projects related to the maintenance, repair, and upgrade of our maritime customers’ systems.

You will act as a key point of contact for customers, internal stakeholders, suppliers, and outsourced service partners, coordinating Field Service Engineers, spare parts, and service activities to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and customers receive the support they need. You will also oversee the commercial, administrative, and financial aspects of your assigned service projects.

Our main product lines include Navigation, Communication, and Automation, supporting ocean-going vessels in the dredging, cruise, merchant, and oil & gas industries. While our customers are primarily located in the Benelux region, service projects can be executed worldwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full scope of assigned service projects and coordinate multiple service jobs simultaneously in a cost-efficient manner.
  • Act as the first point of contact for customers, internal stakeholders, suppliers, and outsourced agents throughout project execution.
  • Coordinate Service Orders from order acceptance through to invoice payment.
  • Coordinate Field Service Engineers, spare parts, and other resources required for service attendances.
  • Gather and prepare relevant information for service teams to support the diagnosis and resolution of technical issues and escalate complex problems when required.
  • Monitor and report on the status of work orders and ensure effective follow-up with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a strong focus on customer satisfaction by acting on customer feedback and analyzing service records.
  • Ensure completeness and proper processing of orders and job files related to invoicing, and close orders when technically complete.
  • Prepare and conduct customer meetings.
  • Identify recurring customer request patterns and initiate action plans independently or together with relevant teams.
  • Oversee the commercial, administrative, and financial aspects of assigned service projects.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement and optimization of service processes and tools.

Key Requirements
  • MBO or Bachelor's degree, with professional experience in a service-oriented organization.
  • Strong customer focus with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong spoken and written English; Dutch is an advantage.
  • Technical or maritime educational background, or experience working in a technical environment, is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and experience with an ERP system, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Hands-on and pragmatic approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Well organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Disciplined, assertive, and proactive with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Strong team player who enjoys working in a dynamic and international environment.
  • Willingness to work from and commute to our location in Schiedam, Netherlands.
