About the Role
Our client is a leading global industrial and metals manufacturing group with a strong presence across Malaysia and international markets.
As part of the Group EHS function, you will support the development and implementation of corporate EHS standards across multiple operating entities. The role combines corporate governance, compliance, auditing, risk management and site-level engagement, making it ideal for EHS professionals looking to move beyond a single-site environment.
We are hiring at both EHS Engineer and Senior EHS Engineer levels, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities
Group EHS Governance
- Support the development and standardisation of Group EHS policies, procedures, standards and programmes.
- Work closely with site EHS teams to ensure consistent implementation of Group requirements.
- Monitor compliance with applicable Malaysian EHS legislation, regulations and internal standards.
- Provide technical guidance to operating entities on EHS-related matters.
Audits, Risk & Compliance
- Coordinate and participate in Group EHS audits, inspections and compliance assessments across operating sites.
- Review risk assessments, incident investigations and corrective action plans.
- Support root cause analysis for significant EHS incidents and monitor implementation of preventive actions.
- Follow up on audit findings and ensure corrective actions are completed within agreed timelines.
EHS Performance & Reporting
- Maintain and analyse Group EHS records, performance indicators and dashboards.
- Monitor key safety and environmental metrics across operating entities.
- Prepare consolidated EHS reports, analysis and management updates for Group leadership.
- Identify trends, recurring risks and opportunities for improvement.
Training & Continuous Improvement
- Support Group-wide EHS training, awareness programmes and workshops.
- Facilitate sharing of best practices between operating sites.
- Promote continuous improvement in EHS systems, processes and performance.
- Support initiatives relating to sustainability, environmental management and broader ESG objectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- EHS Engineer: 1–3+ years of relevant EHS experience, preferably within manufacturing, heavy industry, chemical processing or other industrial environments.
- Senior EHS Engineer: 4+ years of progressive EHS experience, preferably involving corporate, multi-site or group-level responsibilities.
- Strong working knowledge of Malaysian EHS legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Practical experience with ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 management systems.
- Experience in risk assessment, EHS auditing and incident investigation.
- Strong analytical, reporting and stakeholder management skills.
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia, both written and spoken.
- Mandarin language capability will be an advantage.
- Willingness to travel to operating sites when required.
Advantageous Qualifications
Candidates with any of the following will have an added advantage:
- DOSH-registered Safety & Health Officer (SHO)
- CePSWaM
- CePIETSO
- ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Lead Auditor
- IRCA or equivalent auditor certification
- Experience supporting EHS activities across multiple manufacturing sites
