About this role

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is responsible for leading the overall strategic direction, operational performance, and financial success of the company. The CEO will oversee three manufacturing plants across Malaysia, ensuring operational excellence, sustainable growth, profitability, and strong governance while driving commercial expansion and organizational capability.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute the company's long-term business strategy and growth roadmap.
  • Identify new business opportunities, market expansion, product diversification, and strategic partnerships.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen competitiveness and profitability.

Manufacturing & Operations
  • Provide executive oversight of all three manufacturing plants, ensuring optimal productivity, efficiency, quality, and cost management.
  • Champion Lean Manufacturing, Operational Excellence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Optimize production planning, capacity utilization, and operational performance across all facilities.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Financial & Business Performance
  • Deliver sustainable revenue growth, EBITDA improvement, and strong cash flow.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure, and financial controls.
  • Monitor operational KPIs and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Drive productivity improvements and cost optimization without compromising quality.
Commercial Leadership
  • Work closely with the Sales and Marketing teams to strengthen market share and customer relationships.
  • Develop strategies to grow both domestic and export markets.
  • Understand market trends, competitor activities, and customer requirements to drive business decisions.
Supply Chain & Procurement
  • Ensure efficient procurement of raw materials while managing supplier relationships.
  • Improve inventory management, logistics, and supply chain resilience.
  • Mitigate supply chain risks through strategic sourcing and operational planning.
Leadership & People Development
  • Build a high-performance leadership team across manufacturing, commercial, finance, and corporate functions.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.
  • Develop succession plans for key leadership positions.
Governance & Compliance
  • Ensure strong corporate governance and compliance with all statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage enterprise risks, business continuity planning, and internal controls.
  • Maintain effective relationships with the Board of Directors and provide regular performance updates.

Requirements

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, Finance, or a related discipline; MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of senior leadership experience within manufacturing industries, preferably building materials, construction products, cement, steel, roofing, glass, ceramics, industrial products, or related sectors.
  • Proven experience managing multiple manufacturing plants.
  • Strong track record of delivering revenue growth, EBITDA improvement, operational turnaround, and productivity gains.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain, quality management, and commercial strategy.
  • Experience leading large, cross-functional teams in a multi-site environment.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, capital investments, and strategic planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills.
