Position: Camp Leader – MAC Summer Camps 2026
MAC Summer Camps will take place at MAC Islamic Centre-Edmonton, running from June 29 to August Aug 17, inclusive of mandatory training days.
Camp Leaders are required to be available for the entire duration of the program, including training days. Please note that no vacation or time-off requests will be approved during the camp period.
The camp operates Monday to Friday, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, and Camp Leaders are expected to be present for all scheduled camp hours.
Note: This position will be for the role of Camp Leader at MAC Summer Camps 2026.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage with children (ages 5–12) in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities.
- Lead recreational and educational programs such as arts and crafts, sports, storytelling, and field trips.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and positive behavior of all campers at all times.
- Support daily operations, including setup, cleanup, and smooth transitions between activities.
- Assist in planning and delivering activities that align with weekly themes and learning objectives.
- Communicate effectively with parents, volunteers, and fellow staff members.
- Enforce camp rules respectfully and serve as a positive role model for campers.
- Attend all staff meetings and pre-camp training sessions.
- Draft and revise documents, manage correspondence, and maintain organized paper and digital files.
- Coordinate and execute various camp-related activities and logistics.
- Respond to inquiries and concerns to ensure high levels of participant and parent satisfaction.
- Create newsletters, flyers, and other marketing materials for camp communication and promotion.
- Ensure programs run on schedule and that all required supplies are purchased and prepared in advance.
- Assist with camper registration and maintain accurate registration, attendance, and fee records.
- Review, complete, and follow up on incident reports and submit them promptly to the Camp Manager.
