Job Description
A Day in the Life
- The coordinator is responsible for all day-to-day responsibilities of their site. Staffing, parent communication, scheduling, compliance of state requirements and all MHC policies.
Manages the Children’s Educational Services by addressing the specific and unique needs of the children, parents, and staff. Quality care will be promoted through the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of the children.
Communicates, relates and interacts effectively with all children, parents, and staff.
Maintains confidentiality of information and records.
Responds to parents/children’s questions, concerns and needs effectively and timely.
Coordinate with the MHC Child Development Manager on developing goals and objectives for the Child Development Department, and will be responsible to develop, implement and evaluate program policies.
Will operate the Child Development programs within budgetary parameters.
Is responsible to maintain Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) standards.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
Oversees program compliance with Head Start, Early Head Start, and Great Start Readiness Program.
Collaborates with other Child Development related agencies for program compliance and implementation.
Participates in strengthening relationships with community collaborative efforts in the area of Early Childhood.
Oversees all budgetary and financial parameters related to grant based partnerships.
Acts as a mentor with new MHC Child Development department programs related to grant based partnerships
Monitoring and evaluating each staff member.
Qualifications
What’s Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Development
OR - Associates Degree in Early Childhood Development with a Bachelor’s Degree in a related field of study such as Social Work, Business, Psychology etc.
OR - Current CDA Certificate with 12 hours of Child Development classes
- Must meet State of Michigan Department of Social Services licensing requirements for a Program Director
- Must have demonstrated knowledge of Early Childhood development and the ability to manage a child care facility.
Must complete all CACFP duties as assigned
Demonstrated ability to effectively assist with development and management of the child development department
Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.
Additional Information
Schedule: Monday - Friday (between hours of 6am - 6pm)
