Senior Legislative & Strategic Integration Advisor
About this role
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Requests for Information (RFIs), taskers, and executive correspondence on behalf of senior Department of War (DoW) clients, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Prepare, coordinate, and deliver polished response packages for submission to senior leadership and stakeholders, ensuring strict compliance with classified handling requirements.
- Provide senior-level Congressional advisory support, including monitoring, analyzing, and interpreting legislation such as the National Defense Authorization Act and Defense Appropriations bills.
- Coordinate and execute Congressional engagements to advance high-priority technology, research, and policy initiatives.
- Collaborate with OSW Legislative Affairs, the Comptroller, and cross-functional leadership teams to address high-volume information requests and to prepare senior leaders for hearings, briefings, and engagements.
- Manage the development of Congressionally mandated reports and inquiries within OUSW(R&E), delivering clear, accurate, and timely analyses to senior leadership.
- Serve as an organizational liaison to Congressional offices, DoD components, think tanks, and interagency partners on issues encompassing defense research, health, foreign affairs, trade, and veterans’ policy.
- 10 years of experience supporting senior DoD leadership and components in legislative, policy, or strategic advisory roles.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing high-volume, high-visibility Congressional taskings and engagements.
- Proven ability to interpret and analyze legislative language and effectively communicate its impacts to senior military and civilian officials.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven track record of producing executive-level correspondence.
- Strong organizational abilities and significant experience implementing enterprise-level process improvements.
- Demonstrated capability to operate with discretion, sound judgment, and professionalism in politically sensitive environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required
- Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
- Active TS/SCI with SAP Eligibility
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
