What Will Your Job Look Like?

The Interim Manager, Operations will play a key role in the management, training, and development of staff and implementation of short and long-term strategic processes.

The Interim Manager, Operations will oversee all aspects of the operations, maintenance and dispatch teams to ensure that the daily operations and the needs of the Client are effective, efficient, and are completed based on contractual requirements. The Interim Manager, Operations will play a key role in the management, training and development of staff, as well as striving to ensure the safest and highest quality transportation experience for our passengers.

What will your job look like?

  • Oversight of Drivers, Dispatchers, and operations employees and their daily performance, to ensure safe, efficient, effective operation, including scheduling, expenditures, attendance and discipline

  • Training, retraining and updates to policies, procedures and safety guidelines

  • Perform monthly Safety meetings

  • Perform Driver evaluations as required by contract, as well as ADA, DOT, and FTA requirements

  • Communicate regularly with client to ensure positive productive relationship, and to assist them with updates, information, and system upgrades as needed

  • Monitor performance of direct reports and provide coaching and guidance

  • Create and ensure efficient and effective scheduling occurs

  • Monitor the daily performance of the operations staff, and provide coaching when appropriate

  • Ensure contract compliance

  • Perform Driver evaluations as required by contract, as well as ADA, DOT, and FTA requirements

  • Create and implement both short and long-term location operation strategies

  • Review and update policies, procedures and safety guidelines

  • Perform additional duties as assigned or required

What you’ll need:

Experience, Education & Certifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent combination of education and experience) in a related field

  • 5+ years of experience in transit operations

  • Previous management experience in the Para-Transit or livery industries preferred

  • Previous experience working with senior citizens or persons with disabilities

  • Experience supervising hourly personnel in a passenger transportation environment

  • Experience training in a classroom and behind the wheel setting

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Skills:

  • Ability to provide feedback, but positive and areas of opportunities

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Knowledge of basic safety and training procedures

  • Knowledge of dispatch software

  • Map reading, two-way radio communication and driving experience preferably in a demand responsive service environment

  • Thorough knowledge of ADA, DOT, FTA regulations

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

  • Ability to communicate effectively and work with all departments

  • Ability to work independently and objectively

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Ability to effectively delegate tasks and provide appropriate supervision and follow up to department staff

  • Familiar with windows-based computer operating systems and Microsoft Office packages

  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality

  • Regular attendance is required

  • Previous management experience in the Para-Transit or livery industries preferred

Pay: $35.00-37.50/hr
