JOB PURPOSE
MSC Crociere is looking for an Test Automation Developer. To design, develop, and maintain Java-based automated test suites integrated into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of MSC Cruises' business-critical applications.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Design, write, maintain, and optimize automated tests using Java, Playwright, and Selenium, improving coverage, reliability, and execution performance.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins), contributing to quality gates, reporting, and fast feedback loops for development teams.
• Develop and execute performance tests using JMeter, analyzing results, identifying bottlenecks, and partnering with engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Use GitLab for source control, branching, merge requests, and code reviews, working closely with QA, development, and product teams to embed testing best practices.
• Contribute to testing of AI-driven features by defining repeatable quality checks, supporting regression testing on AI configurations and prompts, and identifying recurring failure patterns.
• Produce test reports and contribute to dashboards and monitoring to track quality trends and test execution outcomes over time.
• Apply knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to triage issues in web front-ends, providing clear defect reports and actionable test evidence.
• Support continuous improvement of test automation frameworks and practices across the Testing Factory.
QUALIFICATIONS (skills, competencies, experience)
- Minimum 2–4 years of hands-on experience in test automation using Java with Playwright/Selenium and TestNG or similar frameworks, including CI/CD pipeline integration (Jenkins).
• Experience in a software delivery environment; cruise, e-commerce, or digital platform industry is an advantage.
• Fluent in English, oral and written; Italian is a strong advantage.
• Hands-on experience with GitLab, JMeter, and test reporting tools; familiarity with Elastic/Kibana or similar observability platforms is an advantage; Python scripting for utilities and prototyping.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Exposure to AI-enabled features and practical use of AI tools in the QA lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills within cross-functional delivery teams.

WHAT WE OFFER
In compliance with the applicable pay transparency legislation, the following information is provided regarding the initial compensation foreseen for the position.
Contract
- Type of contract: Permanent
- Hybrid working model: 2 days per week remotely
- Applicable Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL): “Addetti agli uffici ed ai terminals delle società di navigazione che esercitano l’armamento privato” – sez. personale di terra
- Gross annual salary (RAL): between €32.000 – €39.000 gross per year, paid over 14 monthly installments
- Meal vouchers: worth €8 per on-site working day
The offer in terms of salary will be determined based on the candidate’s professional experience, technical competencies, and the level of autonomy and responsibility assigned to the role.
