Your Purpose

The Port Cost Control Analyst is to support the Head of Port Cost Control and the Port Cost Control Manager in all activities related to the cost control and saving initiatives. This role will be mainly responsible for managing, analyzing, and transforming complex datasets into accurate, automated reports and actionable business insights, while developing dashboards, supporting financial planning and performance reporting, improving data quality and reporting processes, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to drive informed strategic and operational decision-making.

Your Impact

  • Manage and maintain large datasets, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and consistency.
    • Extract, query, and manipulate data.
    • Design and develop automated reporting solutions using advanced Excel, including macros and Power Query where appropriate.
    • Create interactive dashboards and visualisations to monitor KPIs and communicate business performance.
    • Analyse trends, identify risks and opportunities, and provide recommendations to support strategic and operational decision-making.
    • Produce regular reporting for commercial, finance, and operational stakeholders, ensuring outputs are accurate, timely, and aligned with business requirements.
    • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis through robust data management and financial reporting.
    • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve reporting efficiency.
    • Investigate and resolve data quality issues, working with stakeholders to improve data governance and reporting standards.
    • Translate complex data into clear, meaningful insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Your Journey so far

  • Fluent English (knowledge of Italian is preferred but not essential)
    • Good stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
    • Analytical skills and strong problem-solving skills
    • Proven ability in data crunching, financial modelling and working with large datasets across multiple systems
    • Proficient knowledge of basic systems especially Excel with advanced formulas, Power BI and Power Point
    • Data modelling and reporting automation
    • KPI development and performance reporting
    • Flexibility and team working and analytical problem solving
    • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment
    • Good organisation and time management skills, attention to detail
