Overview
- Oversee the Finance Operations Team to ensure alignment with the company’s mission, strategy, and objective
- Enhance standardisation of business processes to drive operational performance
- Regularly review work practices/procedures to identify opportunities to improve quality or productivity
- Lead projects which provide a value added service and operational streamlining to the MUFG Group which facilitate retention of existing profitable business and profitable growth of the client portfolio
- Oversee day-to-day payment processing, settlement activities, cash management and bank reconciliation functions.
- Ensure all transactions are processed accurately, completely and within agreed service standards.
- Review and approve transactions through banking platforms in accordance with delegated authorities.
- Monitor operational KPIs, service levels and exception reporting to ensure effective operational performance.
- Investigate, resolve and escalate operational issues, risks and incidents in a timely manner.
- Maintain strong relationships with banking partners, custodians and other external service providers.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Fund Operations, Financial Reporting and Business Support teams to support client requirements and operational initiatives
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen controls and improve operational efficiency.
- Lead or participate in projects involving system enhancements, process automation and operational change initiatives.
- Support implementation of new business requirements and regulatory changes impacting finance operations processes.
- Promote standardisation and best practices across the Finance Operations function.
- Ensure all activities are conducted in accordance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and risk management standards.
- Maintain a strong control framework over payment processing and reconciliation activities.
- Support internal and external audits and ensure timely remediation of identified issues.
- Review and approve procedural documentation to ensure it remains current and compliant.
- Escalate material operational risks and control issues to senior management as appropriate.
- 10+ years of experience in finance operations, treasury operations, payments, cash management, reconciliations, fund administration, pensions, insurance, asset management or banking operations.
- Preferably at least 4 years of experience with people management
- Demonstrated experience leading operational teams in a regulated financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of payment processing, banking platforms, reconciliations and operational controls.
- Experience working with SWIFT, electronic banking platforms and financial systems.
- Solid understanding of risk management, audit and governance requirements.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
