Job DetailsJob Location: Willamette Pass - Crescent Lake Jct, OR 97733Position Type: SeasonalThe purpose of the Lift Operations Supervisor is to oversee daily lift operations, provide leadership to lift operations team members, and assist with department organization. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about providing optimal experiences to our guests through training and mentoring peers.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee day-to-day operations of the mountain lifts in coordination with the department management team.
Effectively supervise, motivate, and coach a team of lift operators and operators in charge to provide great customer service while promoting the Freedom to Ski.
Complete daily rotational lift checks, monitoring job performance and providing assistance when needed.
Ensure all stations are in compliance with OSHA, ANSI, and USFS regulations and requirements.
Spearhead the physical and digital organization of all department standard operation procedures, documents, logs, reports, policies, and procedures.
Assist skiers and snowboarders in safely loading and unloading ski lifts.
Monitor and operate ski lift controls, ensuring smooth start and stop operations.
Conduct regular safety inspections of lift equipment and report any issues to management promptly.
Maintain lift ramps and clear snow as needed to ensure smooth traffic flow.
Regularly work in adverse weather conditions.
This position often requires sitting, reaching, crouching, standing, kneeling, and bending for extended periods of time.
Other Responsibilities
Ski or snowboard safely to and from assigned workstations using company-designated routes.
Maintain customer contact in a friendly and courteous manner.
Contribute to a professional workplace that maximizes employee morale, productivity, and effectiveness.
Follow all company and department policies and procedures, and attendance and punctuality requirements.
Assist in any other department or with any other duties, as assigned or needed.
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge of lift controls and operations for aerial and surface lifts.
Knowledge of lift and ski area safety processes and procedures.
Skill in Google Workspaces and standard computer interfaces.
Skill in basic machinery.
Ability to provide leadership to a large-scale team.
Ability to communicate effectively, and professionally with guests and co-workers.
Ability to operate a snowmobile safely on steep and crowded terrain
Education or Formal Training
Completion of the WPR Qualified Climber program prior to their first day.
Experience/Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
A valid, current, unrestricted driver’s license is required.
At least one year of lift operations experience is required.
At least one year of experience in a leadership or team-building role is preferred.
Must be available to work at least 4 days per week, including holidays and weekends.
