Systems Engineer

Infrastructure Hardware / US Navy Surface Systems

Pittsfield, MA

Pay Estimated: $38.93 - $43.93/Hour

We are seeking a Systems Engineer – Infrastructure Hardware to support U.S. Navy Surface Systems by designing, integrating, testing, and securing mission-critical computing infrastructure. This role supports the systems engineering lifecycle through hardware integration, systems security documentation, accreditation support, laboratory testing, and engineering documentation while working in an Agile DoD engineering environment.


 

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, evaluate, and support infrastructure hardware solutions for U.S. Navy surface ship platforms.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system design deficiencies to improve system performance, reliability, and security.
  • Develop and maintain system security documentation supporting system accreditation and certification activities.
  • Support system accreditation, certification, verification, validation, and engineering test efforts throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Develop, configure, test, and troubleshoot computing hardware and infrastructure solutions in a laboratory environment.
  • Evaluate systems, networks, and information systems to ensure compliance with applicable government security requirements and technical standards.
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation supporting hardware integration, testing, configuration management, and system deployment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional Agile engineering teams to develop secure, scalable, and reliable infrastructure solutions.
  • Participate in daily Agile stand-up meetings to resolve technical challenges and support program milestones.
  • Contribute to the development of technical engineering products and reusable engineering frameworks across multiple systems and programs.

 

Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or a related Science, Engineering, or Mathematics discipline plus 2+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree plus 6 months of relevant experience.
  • Experience supporting systems engineering activities throughout the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Knowledge of systems engineering concepts, principles, technical standards, and engineering methodologies.
  • Experience developing system security documentation and supporting accreditation or certification activities.
  • Experience evaluating systems, networks, and information systems for compliance with government security specifications.
  • Experience developing, configuring, testing, or troubleshooting computing hardware or infrastructure systems.
  • Familiarity with requirements management and system modeling tools.
  • Ability to create and maintain technical engineering documentation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, wiring schematics, rack layouts, and parts lists.
  • Experience troubleshooting computing hardware in a laboratory or customer environment.
  • Experience developing electrical schematics using Siemens Capital Logic Designer.
  • Experience supporting U.S. Navy or Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience working in Agile engineering environments.
