We are hiring a Numerical Control (NC) Programmer to support aerospace manufacturing by developing advanced machining strategies, CMM programming, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) initiatives. This role requires expertise in PC-DMIS, CAMIO, ZEISS Calypso, UMESS, CATIA V5, Spatial Analyzer, CAD models, CNC programming, and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to improve manufacturing quality, inspection accuracy, and production efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise in numerical control (NC) programming, machining, manufacturing engineering, and Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA).
- Develop manufacturing and producibility requirements supporting new product development and ongoing production programs.
- Plan, develop, and integrate machining methods, manufacturing processes, software, and equipment to support the fabrication and inspection of complex parts and assemblies.
- Create, validate, document, and maintain machine control data for manufacturing and inspection applications.
- Program and support Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using industry-standard metrology software.
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve quality, efficiency, and producibility.
- Interpret CAD models, engineering drawings, and CATIA V5 designs to support manufacturing and inspection activities.
- Identify manufacturing equipment, tooling, and process improvements to support production objectives.
- Coordinate technical work assignments and provide mentoring and training to engineering and manufacturing personnel.
- Work independently under minimal direction while supporting cross-functional engineering and production teams.
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship required by Federal Law.
- Associate degree in a related technical discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Typically 6 or more years of experience in numerical control programming, manufacturing engineering, machining, or related production environments.
- Experience programming and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
- Proficiency with PC-DMIS programming and CMM inspection processes.
- Experience planning, creating, validating, and documenting machine control data.
- Working knowledge of CAMIO, PC-DMIS, ZEISS Calypso, UMESS, Spatial Analyzer, and related metrology software.
- Ability to interpret CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Experience working with CATIA V5.
- Knowledge of machining processes, CNC programming, manufacturing methods, and DFMA principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting aerospace or high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Experience with advanced manufacturing process development and inspection system integration.
- Experience mentoring engineers, programmers, or manufacturing personnel.
- Familiarity with automated inspection systems and manufacturing process optimization.
