We are hiring a Manufacturing Simulation Engineer with Siemens Plant Simulation experience to develop discrete event simulation (DES) models for manufacturing and logistics processes, including machining, welding, paint, and general assembly. This role requires experience in industrial or manufacturing engineering, 3D simulation modeling, throughput analysis, bottleneck identification, buffer sizing, material routing, and manufacturing process optimization.
Responsibilities:
- Build discrete event simulation models in Siemens Plant Simulation for manufacturing and logistics processes, including machining, welding, paint, and general assembly.
- Develop 3D simulation models to evaluate manufacturing throughput capabilities and process performance.
- Analyze manufacturing processes to identify production bottlenecks and opportunities for improved process efficiency.
- Model and evaluate buffer sizing, material flow, and material routing requirements.
- Apply discrete event simulation to manufacturing operations to support process optimization and production planning.
- Co-develop standards and best practices for discrete event simulation model development.
- Develop and maintain a reusable library of simulation assets with defined properties and performance characteristics.\
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience developing simulation models using Siemens Plant Simulation.
- 5+ years of industrial engineering or manufacturing engineering experience, with a focus on applying discrete event simulation to improve process efficiency.
- Experience developing and applying discrete event simulation models within manufacturing operations.
- Experience analyzing manufacturing processes, material flow, throughput, bottlenecks, and related production constraints.
- Experience applying structured problem-solving methods within manufacturing operations.
- Ability to travel as required.
