Associate Production Tooling Engineer

Aerospace Manufacturing & Production

$58.65 - $73.55/Hour

We are hiring an Associate Production Tooling Engineer to support aerospace manufacturing and production engineering operations by designing, developing, and implementing production equipment and tooling solutions. This role partners closely with engineering, manufacturing, tool makers, and production teams to improve manufacturing efficiency, tooling performance, safety, quality, and production readiness in a fast-paced aerospace environment.


 

Responsibilities:

  • Investigate, develop, and implement equipment and tooling concepts that support aerospace product design and manufacturing requirements.
  • Perform tooling liaison activities to support tooling fabrication, implementation, validation, and production use.
  • Participate in design reviews to collect manufacturing requirements and create or revise engineering drawings and 3D models that support production build plans.
  • Develop equipment and tooling specifications and prepare purchase requests for new tooling and capital equipment acquisitions.
  • Verify tooling and equipment designs for compliance with safety, manufacturability, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain tooling inspection procedures, operating instructions, preventive maintenance plans, and user training documentation.
  • Manage equipment and tooling project budgets, schedules, and deliverables to support production objectives.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, production, safety, quality, engineering, and tooling teams to resolve production challenges and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on manufacturing efficiency, tooling performance, production quality, and operational excellence.
  • Provide direct production floor support by interacting with mechanics, tool makers, and manufacturing personnel to resolve tooling and equipment issues.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance while supporting production schedules and operational priorities.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, or a directly related technical discipline, or equivalent non-U.S. qualifications.
  • Minimum 1+ year of related engineering or production engineering experience.
  • Experience supporting manufacturing, tooling, production engineering, or industrial operations.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of equipment design, tooling development, manufacturing processes, or production support.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams in a production environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of related engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting aerospace or manufacturing production environments.
  • 5+ years of experience using 3D CAD modeling software.
  • 5+ years of experience applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • 5+ years of project management experience supporting engineering, manufacturing, or tooling projects.
  • Experience supporting production engineering, tooling design, capital equipment implementation, or manufacturing process improvement.
