Morgan Stanley’s Prime Brokerage Client Digital Technology team in NY is seeking an AI-focused Full Stack Developer with 4+ years of Financial Services experience to build and modernize client-facing digital platforms for Prime Brokerage and Hedge Fund clients. The role requires strong engineering fundamentals, AI/GenAI capability, direct business engagement, global collaboration, and ownership of secure, scalable, high-performance platforms with best-in-class user experience.

What you’ll do in the role:

  • Build and support client-facing web, mobile, and API platforms.

  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.

  • On delivery from concept through production deployment and support.

  • Delivery time-sensitive initiatives with strong focus on quality, resiliency, and reliability

  • Develop AI-enabled capabilities using LLMs, RAG, AI agents, workflow orchestration, and automation.

  • Identify opportunities to improve client and operational workflows through AI.

  • Modernize applications using cloud-native, API-first, and microservices architectures.

  • Improve scalability, performance, observability, security, and maintainability.

  • CI/CD, automated testing, DevOps, and engineering best practices.

  • Champion Deliver intuitive user experiences using analytics, feedback, and UX partnership.

  • Collaborate across global engineering, product, infrastructure, and business teams.

  • Mentor junior developers and contribute to engineering excellence.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience.

  • Experience in Banking, Capital Markets, Prime Brokerage, Fund Services, or Financial Services.

  • Strong full-stack development experience with enterprise-scale applications.

  • Proven ability to work independently and drive complex initiatives.

  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience delivering secure, scalable, highly available customer-facing platforms.

Technical Skills

  • Frontend: Angular, React, TypeScript, JavaScript, responsive/mobile-first design.

  • Backend: Java and/or Python, Spring Boot, REST APIs, microservices.

  • Cloud & DevOps: CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, automated testing, observability.

  • AI / GenAI: LLM integration, RAG, prompt engineering, LangGraph/LangChain or similar frameworks, vector databases, AI workflow orchestration.

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $120,000 and $170,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
