JOB SUMMARY:
This position must provide; a clean, sanitary comfortable, orderly and satisfying surrounding for the residents, employees, and visitors. The housekeeper must follow the instructions as given for handling, cleaning, disposing, and moving of objects/materials.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Cleaning of halls, common areas, and vacant units, to include but not limited to, floors, walls, doors, bathrooms, grounds, stairwells, windows and appliances as instructed.
- Develops property cleaning schedule with supervisor for adequate coverage of buildings and grounds.
- Maintains appropriate levels of cleaning supply inventory
- Maintains cleaning equipment in working order
- Post notices as needed.
- Work with maintenance and community manager for scheduling of vacant unit cleaning.
- Decorate for the holidays including the hanging of decorations.
- Assist in community meetings, holiday functions and special resident requests as needed.

REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to work assigned hours as scheduled.
- Must be able to use cleaning supplies as directed
- Must be able to use housekeeping equipment
- Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 1 year of housekeeping experience in an affordable housing environment.
EQUIPMENT USED
The following non exhaustive list is representative of equipment the employee may utilize:
- Cleaning supplies
- Vacuum
- Dusting equipment
- Bathroom cleaning equipment
- Gloves
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Employee must be able to lift at least 30 lbs.
- Employee will frequently utilize their fingers, hands and arms
- Employee will be frequently required to stand or walk
- Employee will be required to bend, twist, stoop, pull, push, lift and kneel
- Employees will be frequently required to stretch and reach
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- The employee will be exposed to an indoor and outdoor work environments with frequent exposure to odors, waste, insects, pests and occasional exposure to confined spaces. The noise level changes on a consistent basis.
