The Role: Design Studio Intern

At Stone Island we are always looking for people who share our spirit and values to drive our company forward. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Design Studio Intern to join our team in Milan. 


Your Impact

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the Head Designer throughout the design process, including research and concept development.
  • Assist in the creation of sketches and technical drawings, with a strong focus on Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
  • Maintain and continuously update physical boards with sketches, drawings, and development notes, ensuring alignment during review meetings.
  • Support fittings preparation and organisation.
  • Prepare garments for development and fitting sessions by pinning and marking pieces according to received notes, ensuring the correct execution of adjustments (pockets, details, proportions) and accurate translation of design intent.
  • Collaborate closely with pattern makers, product development, and production teams to ensure consistency between design vision and final output.
  • Support day-to-day administrative and organisational tasks within the design studio.
    Prepare clear and structured reports following meetings, summarising feedback, comments, and action points.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Fluent in Italian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Degree in fashion design or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of garment construction and materials
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign)
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Leverage AI tools for visual rendering and concept development is considered a strong plus.
