Join us and help shape sustainable, compliant procurement practices across the MOL Group!
We are looking for a Sustainability Compliance Expert to support compliance with key EU sustainability regulations, including the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). In this role, you will contribute to the group-level management of sustainability-related regulatory compliance, coordinate cross-functional activities, support reporting obligations, and help integrate regulatory requirements into procurement processes and supply chain operations.
As part of the Responsible Procurement Team, you will work closely with procurement, business, and external stakeholders while actively contributing to the team's professional objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Monitoring & interpreting regulatory changes into actions, coordination tasks at group level
Defining and implementing internal policies and processes
Identifying products and sourcing events within the scope of applicable EU regulations
Coordinating supplier data collection and validation activities
Keeping templates, guidance materials, reports and data management processes updated
Assessing regulatory risks related to procurement activities and supply chains
Supporting Category Management in forecasting and planning of regulatory impacts and associated costs
Integrating regulatory requirements into procurement processes, category strategies and contracts
Coordinating the report submission to authorities
Supporting ESG reporting and sustainability disclosures
Supporting interactions with the authorities, if needed
Maintaining compliance documentation and audit readiness
CBAM: Coordinating registration for new legal entities in every affected country of the MOL Group
CBAM: Coordinating the purchase, accounting and planning of CBAM certificates
Providing expert support and training to internal stakeholders across procurement and business functions
Informing suppliers on applicable regulatory requirements
Developing communication materials, guidelines and awareness programs
Supporting the Responsible Procurement Lead Expert's work
Requirements
University degree (BA/BSc or MA/MSc) in Economics, Law, Engineering, or a related field
1-3 years of experience in Procurement and/or ESG
Strong interest in or up-to-date knowledge of sustainability regulations and standards, especially CBAM and EUDR
Stakeholder management, project management, excellent communication and presentation skills
Compliance-oriented mindset
Ability and willingness to learn complex regulations and processes
Training and facilitation skills
Strong problem-solving capabilities
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Excellent English skills, both written and spoken
Croatian language knowledge is a nice-to-have and considered an advantage
Proficient user of MS Office applications
