E&P IT Operations Manager

 

 

 

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Exploration and Production (E&P) IT Operations Manager leads and governs IT, application, and data operations across MOL Group E&P entities. The role ensures business continuity, service quality, cost-efficiency, and alignment with business needs with leading a team of 10-15, manage vendor, performance and compliance as well as acting as the primary escalation point for major operational issues.

Main responsibilities:

People Management

  • Lead and develop the E&P IT Operations, application, and data teams.

  • Mentor the team to deliver high-quality solutions and uninterrupted operations.

  • Communicate clearly regarding team goals, deadlines, and required training.

  • Foster trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive teamwork.

  • Promote compliance with company regulations and internal strategies.

E&P IT Application Operation

  • Manage Operations: Own availability, performance, and SLAs for E&P IT applications and data platforms.

  • Lifecycle & Support: Coordinate deployment, maintenance, and automation while working with internal IT teams.

  • Compliance & Audits: Lead operational audit processes and manage the lifecycle of findings.

  • Vendor Management: Oversee 3rd party vendors, contracts, and OPEX efficiency.

Drive and supervise the E&P IT Application Operation activity

  • Lead E&P IT Operations: Manage application performance, availability, and SLAs.

  • Coordinate Deployment & Support: Oversee portfolio maintenance, infrastructure, and automation.

  • Manage Audits & Vendors: Handle compliance, 3rd-party contracts, and OPEX efficiency.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Infrastructure, DAII, Architecture, and Delivery teams.

  • Data Operations & Information Management

  • Data Integrity: Ensure data availability, quality, compliance, and secure access.

  • Pipeline Management: Oversee operational data pipelines, interfaces, and GIS visualization.

  • Cross-team Collaboration: Align with data governance and collaborate with infrastructure and architecture teams.

Escalation Management

  • Issue Resolution: Serve as the main escalation point for technical and customer issues.

  • Process Improvement: Balance daily operations with development tasks to improve software lifecycle metrics.

  • Monitoring & Analysis: Implement tools for system monitoring, logging, and proactive incident management.

Drive and supervise the E&P IT Delivery:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement (e.g.: infrastructure, cybersecurity, DAII team) new technology solutions and delivery of new developments. 

  • Lead and enforce operational and software development procedures and policies.

  • Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance efficiency.

 

Main requirements:

  • University or College degree 

  • 5+ years proven work experience as team leader or manager in IT operation

  • Ability to develop, implement and assess performance metrics

  • Proven experience in leading application operations, data operations or business-critical IT support organizations.

  • Experience in vendor, contract, budget and operational performance management. Experience in international or matrix organization is an advantage.

  • Client-based service approach

  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization

  • Strong analytical and organization skills

  • Solution seeking, delivery-oriented mindset required.

  • Adaptability to demanding circumstances that require timely and accurate responses

  • English - strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Driving license
