Staff Software Engineer - Full-Stack
About this role
We need a Staff Software Engineer with 8+ years of software development experience who can operate with high ownership across the full stack (with a slight backend lean). You should be comfortable translating ambiguous problems into clear technical plans and executing against them, with a track record of leading large-scale, cross-domain projects. Bonus points if you have experience with AI/LLM-powered product features or native mobile development.
What you'll do:
Build and maintain GraphQL APIs powered by Python services (Django, Flask) and implement web and mobile experiences using React & React Native
Take ownership of critical parts of the Care Journey roadmap, driving the adaptive care experience that guides members to the right blend of support
Work closely with product, design, and cross-functional partners to deliver cohesive, high-impact features from concept to launch
Independently write and execute technical plans (tech specs/RFCs) for large, ambiguous, cross-domain projects, negotiating scope with product along the way
Lead engineering initiatives as the directly responsible individual, owning launch timelines, decomposing work, and coordinating dependencies across teams
Mentor other engineers to scale your impact across the Care Journey team and the broader engineering department
Maintain HIPAA and GDPR compliance and general security through best practice implementation
Participate in on-call rotations, driving investigation, remediation, and process improvements
