Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm, with 30 minute lunch
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs all types of manufacturing and painting work on various types of parts, will deal primarily with powder coat paint.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Read job orders and inspect work pieces to determine work procedures and materials required.
• Select and mix ingredients to prepare coating substances according to specifications, using paddles or mechanical mixers;
clean surfaces of work pieces in preparation for coating; check quality of powder paints and inspect labels on cartons.
• Determine color needed and move paint booth on line accordingly; set-up, adjust, and operate machines and position spray
guns to paint or coat products.
• Examine finished surfaces of work pieces to verify conformance to specifications; then retouch any defective areas.
• Clean machines, related equipment, and work areas, using water solvents, air, and other cleaning aids.
ESSENTIAL TASKS
• Assist the finish operators in hanging parts.
• Clean and maintain tools and equipment.
• Operate baking ovens and monitor temperatures and bake cycle time.

Education
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
Experience
Minimum of 1-3 years’ related experience at a level equivalent to journeyman painter or similar work experience
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Computer Skills
• Ability to learn MiTek's internal systems.
Other Requirements
• Basic knowledge of industrial applications and appropriate coatings for metal.
• Basic knowledge of practices, tools, equipment, and techniques associated with painting trade.
• Basic knowledge of standard hand and power tools and equipment used in painting activities; and the ability to use and
operate hand and power tools as needed in a safe, efficient manner.
• Intermediate knowledge of safety standards/precautions pertaining to painting and ability to read and follow MSD S
recommendations and requirements.
• Estimate materials and time required to complete various tasks.
