Senior Consumer Loan Officer

Compensation: $34.00 - $41.00 per hour

Actual compensation within this range will be determined by factors including experience, qualifications, skills, internal equity, and other job-related considerations permitted by law.

What You’ll Do

  • Reviewing and underwriting consumer loan applications across a variety of products, including auto loans, credit cards, and personal loans.
  • Analyzing member credit profiles, income sources, repayment ability, and overall creditworthiness.
  • Making informed lending decisions while adhering to established policies, procedures, and lending guidelines.
  • Identifying alternative lending solutions that meet member needs while balancing risk.
  • Providing second-level loan reviews and guidance to other loan officers.
  • Serving as a lending subject matter expert for branches and internal departments.
  • Handling escalated lending and member situations with professionalism and sound judgment.
  • Coaching and mentoring team members while helping identify training opportunities and workflow improvements.
  • Assisting with audits, reporting, projects, system testing, and process enhancements.
  • Staying current on regulatory requirements and ensuring compliance with all applicable lending and security standards.

 

What You'll Bring

  • A minimum of 5 years of consumer lending and underwriting experience
  • At least 3 years of customer service experience
  • Strong understanding of consumer credit analysis, income evaluation, and repayment assessment
  • Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
  • Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining service-level commitments
  • A high degree of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Credit union experience
  • Call center experience
  • Exposure to real estate lending and/or collections
