Hourly Rate: $15.50 per hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. During academic year, (may vary based on operational needs).
Position Summary
Misericordia University is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Campus Shuttle Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation for students, faculty, staff, and visitors. This position supports the daily operations of the University by ensuring dependable shuttle service across campus and designated off-campus locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate University shuttle vehicles safely and in compliance with all traffic laws and University policies
- Transport passengers along established routes and schedules
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintain a clean and orderly shuttle environment
- Provide excellent customer service and assist passengers as needed, including individuals with disabilities
- Maintain accurate logs and required documentation
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding schedule changes, delays, or incidents
- Adhere to all University safety and risk management guidelines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required (CDL preferred but not required, depending on vehicle)
- Previous driving or customer service experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a consistent schedule
- Commitment to providing a safe and positive experience for all passengers
- Must be able to pass a background check and driver record screening
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a vehicle
- Ability to assist passengers when needed
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions
