Mirion Technologies Secure Integrated Solutions (SIS) is seeking a Security Integration Engineer required to understand, analyze, design, procure, and troubleshoot security systems in accordance with project specifications, internal and external stakeholder requirements, and regulatory requirements. Specific work activities include and are not limited to:

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Performing planning of project requirements including schedule, cost, and technical constraints
  • Preparing detailed trade studies of various technical solutions and providing recommendations for optimal solutions
  • Prepares labor and material cost estimates for proposal efforts
  • Prepares design drawings using sound engineering practices throughout the project lifecycle from preliminary design to as-built project configuration using the appropriate CAD software
  • Providing stakeholders review drawings, scheduling, and hosting design review meetings and incorporating review comments in accordance with project schedules
  • Tracking all system and sub-system components from conceptual design to shipment using the appropriate tracking software
  • Coordinating and collaboration with vendor management to procure system and sub-system components through approved vendors
  • Directing, overseeing, and supporting technicians during project system staging
  • Support and troubleshooting of staged systems during system testing including Factory Acceptance Testing
  • Reviewing and providing meaningful, constructive feedback against documentation and drawings prepared by peers in the Hardware Engineering department
  • Attending project meetings and providing input and collaboration with meeting attendees
  • Cross discipline collaboration and coordination on a regular basis
  • Interface with customers on a regular basis
  • Occasional travel to customer sites to support field surveys and installation/testing of designed and delivered systems
  • Interface with Project Management on a regular basis to discuss and provide schedule, cost, and risk updates
  • Ability to track time spent at work and be accountable for time charged to projects
  • Other duties as required.

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, & SKILLS

  • Required
    • Bachelor of Science degree in a technical discipline (Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, etc.) with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
    • Knowledgeable about engineering processes and project lifecycles.
    • Ability to work and thrive in a team environment with multiple internal and external stakeholders across disperse geographic locations.
    • Knowledgeable about electrical and mechanical fundamentals.
    • Knowledgeable in Information Technology systems including servers, workstations, and networking components.
    • Knowledgeable and proficient using Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) software.
    • Microsoft Office 365 applications including SharePoint sites.
    • Key job requirement is ability to be present in the Pittsburgh office (Cranberry Township, PA) during standard 1st shift working hours.
    • Must be a US Citizen

 

  • Preferred
  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related engineering field from an accredited university.
  • Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) or can provide proof of passing the fundamentals of Engineering exam.
  • Knowledgeable in Access Control Systems and configurations.
  • Knowledgeable in Intrusion Detection Systems and configurations.
  • Knowledge in Command-and-Control systems and configurations.
  • Knowledgeable in Video Management Systems and configurations.
  • Knowledgeable in Security system cameras and field of view calculations and studies.
  • Experience in the nuclear power industry.
