At MSD, we're strengthening our technology resilience capability to ensure the critical services New Zealanders rely on remain available, secure and resilient.

 

We're looking for experienced Senior Technology Resilience Advisors to help lead and embed technology resilience practices across our technology environment. This is an exciting opportunity to influence how MSD prepares for, responds to, and recovers from technology disruptions, while supporting the delivery of essential services to New Zealanders.

 

Reporting to the Manager Technology Resilience, you will provide specialist advice and leadership across IT Service Continuity Management (ITSCM), disaster recovery, supplier resilience, emergency management and technology risk. You'll work closely with technology teams, business leaders, and external partners to strengthen organisational readiness and support continuous improvement across MSD's resilience framework.

 

We have permanent opportunities available, and you can be based in Auckland or Wellington.

 

What you'll be doing:

 

  • Leading the development and continuous improvement of MSD's technology resilience framework, policies and standards.
  • Providing expert advice on technology resilience, disaster recovery, operational preparedness and risk management.
  • Supporting criticality assessments and facilitate recovery planning activities, testing and simulation exercises.
  • Supporting supplier resilience assurance and continuity obligations across critical services.
  • Partnering with technology and business teams to embed resilience-by-design into strategic initiatives, programmes, and operational processes.
  • Supporting technology response and recovery activities during significant incidents and disruption events.
  • Providing reporting, insights and recommendations that support informed decision-making and governance.

What you bring | Ōu pūmanawatanga

 

We're interested in hearing from candidates who have:

 

  • Significant experience in technology resilience, IT service continuity management, disaster recovery, business continuity or operational resilience.
  • Strong knowledge of resilience frameworks and recognised industry standards such as ISO 22301, ISO 27001, ITIL, BCI GPG or CIMS.
  • Experience facilitating recovery planning, exercising, testing and assurance activities.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, with the ability to work across technical and business audiences.
  • Experience identifying and managing technology risks and supporting organisational preparedness.
  • A continuous improvement mindset and a practical, collaborative approach to problem-solving.
  • Experience working within large, complex organisations and/or the public sector will be highly regarded.

Salary | Utu-ā-tau: $139,920.00 - $170,089.00

 

We expect to appoint this position up to $155,004 however a salary offer will be based on the preferred candidate’s skills and experience and our team relativities.
