About this role

We are looking for a Senior SharePoint Engineer with strong experience managing and evolving large-scale SharePoint environments within enterprise organisations.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with SharePoint administration, lifecycle management, Microsoft Archive for SharePoint, SAM reporting and remediation, along with an understanding of unstructured data management platforms such as Box.com and AvePoint Opus.

You will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to ensure SharePoint environments are secure, compliant, well-governed and efficiently managed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and support large SharePoint estates across enterprise environments.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Archive for SharePoint.
  • Design and implement SharePoint lifecycle management strategies across large organisations.
  • Support SharePoint governance, retention, archiving and information lifecycle processes.
  • Analyse SAM (SharePoint Assessment/Management) reporting and identify areas requiring remediation.
  • Drive remediation activities based on reporting, governance and compliance requirements.
  • Work with stakeholders to improve SharePoint site, content and data management practices.
  • Assess and support unstructured data management across enterprise environments.
  • Maintain an understanding of tools and platforms such as Box.com and AvePoint Opus.
  • Identify opportunities to improve SharePoint estate performance, governance and operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Microsoft 365, security, compliance and infrastructure teams.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other engineers and project teams.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 7–12 years of experience in SharePoint / Microsoft 365 engineering.
  • Strong experience managing large SharePoint estates in enterprise organisations.
  • Hands-on experience with SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience configuring Microsoft Archive for SharePoint.
  • Proven experience implementing SharePoint Lifecycle Management at scale.
  • Detailed understanding of SAM reporting, analysis and remediation.
  • Strong understanding of SharePoint governance, retention and information management.
  • Experience with enterprise-scale SharePoint administration and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of unstructured data management solutions.
  • Knowledge of platforms such as Box.com and AvePoint Opus.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and provide technical leadership.
Good to Have
  • Microsoft 365 / SharePoint certifications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview, retention and compliance capabilities.
  • Experience with SharePoint migration or consolidation projects.
  • PowerShell scripting for SharePoint/Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Experience working in large, complex enterprise environments.
