POSITION SUMMARY:
The Residence Life Student Worker supports the Resident Directors by assisting with behind-the-scenes responsibilities that enhance the overall student experience. This role focuses on administrative tasks, event coordination, and organizational projects that contribute to the smooth operation of Residence Life. Responsibilities may include managing paperwork, updating databases, preparing materials, supporting staff training efforts, and coordinating logistics for Residence Life programs and events. The Student Worker plays a vital part in ensuring that Residence Life operations run efficiently, while also helping create a welcoming and engaging environment for residents.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administrative Support
- Assist with filing, data entry, and maintaining Residence Life records.
- Update databases, rosters, and housing forms as directed.
- Prepare training materials, meeting documents, and communication pieces.
- Event Coordination
- Assist RDs with planning, organizing, and executing Residence Life programs.
- Help manage event logistics such as space setup, supplies, and promotional materials.
- Track participation and feedback to improve future programming.
- Organizational Projects
- Support housing assignments and move-in/move-out processes.
- Help with inventory management for Residence Life supplies.
- Contribute to office projects that strengthen student engagement and operational efficiency.
- Team Support
- Assist RDs in preparing for RA training and ongoing development.
- Provide general support to the Residence Life team as needed.
- Model professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to student affairs.
- Other Duties as Assigned
- Carry out additional tasks or responsibilities that support the goals of Residence Life as directed by the Resident Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current MACU student in good academic and disciplinary standing
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and show professionalism
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to foster a positive, faith-based community
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Enrollment as a MACU student for the 2025–2026 academic year
COMPUTER SKILLS
Basic proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and word processing software for administrative documentation and communication
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to walk buildings and perform cleaning and setup tasks
Occasionally lifting or moving furniture or supplies for room and building preparation
Ability to lift up to at least 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Residential campus environment
Will involve both independent tasks and collaborative responsibilities with the RD and housing staff
Includes weekend and daytime responsibilities, especially during conference/group housing events
