POSITION SUMMARY:

Serve as an assistant coach and the first team and reserve team head coach during the fall and spring seasons.  Secondary position, serve as the first team assistant coach at the Head Coach’s discretion.  


This is a Graduate Assistant position. You must have already been accepted or anticipate acceptance into a MACU Graduate program before the term of employment begins.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversees the conduct, discipline, and positive character of student –athletes by the guidelines and principles of MACU and the NAIA Champions of Character initiative.  
  • Coaches or directs players in techniques of game.
  • Supervise, conduct, and control all practice and training sessions for 3rd team
  • Lead and develop programs that will strengthen the character of the student athletics.
  • Compose and compile all game statistics.
  • Maintain a professional looking complex for recruits, visiting teams, students and alumni.
  • Maintenance of the game and training field, to include mowing, edging, trash removal, etc, will be expected on a weekly basis.  
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Must have the ability to drive University vans to away matches.
  • Must have flexibility for overnight trips that require a hotel stay.
  • Training days begin at 1:30pm with a coaches meeting to discuss team events, situations, and the days training plan.
  • Reports to the Head Coach for other assigned duties.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university is required. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands to successfully perform the job are listed as lifting boxes of equipment, lifting and moving soccer goals for training, carrying equipment to and from the fields, and being able to handle heavy machinery such as mowers, edgers, etc.  Must be able to lift and carry approx. 30 lbs.
