Shift Supervisor

Summary of Position:  

At MMC we are dedicated to the continued progression of our speed, quality, and innovations which are essential to remain a Proud Leader in the Metal Finishing Industry.  MMC is looking for a dedicated Shift Supervisor to perform a variety of tasks while taking pride in their work. Under the direct supervision of the Plant Supervisor you will be responsible for the overall supervision of the production department and product shipment by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Delegates assignments to Process Operators on a daily basis
• Inspects progress of workers' assignments daily
• Ensures Process Operators perform inspections for each order, in accordance with quality control standards and order requirements
• Supervise all production, shipping/receiving, and maintenance personnel on his / her shift
• Assume responsibility for all aspects of quality pertaining to his / her assigned shift
• Assume responsibility for training of new employees on his / her shift in regards to production equipment, safety standards, and the quality system
• Follow priority schedule generated by Sales Supervisor and Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure that delivery schedules are met and customers’ needs are satisfied
• Schedule production on his / her shift to ensure that maximum efficiency is attained while meeting customers' needs
• Operate production equipment when necessary and fill in for employee breaks and absenteeism to minimize disruption of process
•  For this position leadership as well as communication skills are essential

Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Develops and maintains an effective department through the selection, training, compensation, motivation, termination and review of department employees.
• Directs and supervises all department employees to ensure goals are established for the warehouse area.

Skills:

Education/Experience:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent. 
• Prior supervisory experience helpful.
