Senior Supervisor, Rail Fleet Maintenance
About this role
- Supervise and provide effective oversight of the Rail Equipment Maintenance Contract by assisting in setting scope of work, work task procedures, and the approving of the Maintenance contractor’s practices and procedures
- Drives review, evaluation and analyzing of rail equipment performance and designs for inconsistencies, consequential impact among design disciplines, past practices, and resolving issues that may have impact on the immediate and ongoing safety, operation, maintenance, and efficiency of rail equipment.
- Act as subject matter expert for rail fleet maintenance, to ensure operational, capital projects and programs for new, replacement or enhanced rail equipment optimize customer experience, satisfy internal user group requirements, incorporate external agency requirements, and serve public interests.
- Assist in the development of the Rail Fleet Asset Management Plan and the Rail Fleet Maintenance Plans.
- Consult with the Rail Fleet Engineering Asset Management department in the development of maintenance procedures and schedules, Rail Fleet Asset Management Plan and the Rail Fleet Maintenance Plan to review contractual and cost issues and make recommendations for changes.
- Liaise and coordinate with multiple internal and external stakeholders for overall equipment performance, specification requirements, maintenance procedures and schedules and review of cost issues and contract requirements.
- Assist in establishing multi-year capital and operating budgets and long-term locomotive and coach refurbishment needs, in addition to supervision of the administration of all warranty claims, liquidated damages, and rejected components.
Manage the activities to govern, maintain and continually improve data and information quality to ensure that it meets the requirements of the relevant Asset Information Standards, and thus supports the decision-making activities and business processes required by the organization.
- Completion of a diploma in Engineering Technology or related field – or a combination of education, training, and experience deemed equivalent.
- Completion of a degree in Engineering or Business degree will be considered an asset
- Demonstrated years’ progressive experience in contract compliance, preferably in the tail maintenance
- A valid Ontario Class “G” driver’s licence, in good standing.
- Must be able to obtain GO Transit Operators Permit.
- Work location, shifts( Day, Afternoon/Nights) and off-days may vary depending on assignment. Must be prepared to change shifts, locations and off days with little notice in emergency situations. May be required to work statutory holidays. Normally a five-day work week, 36.25 hours per week.
Must successfully complete environmental, safety and any other training required by corporate policy.
