About this role

Under the direction of a Security & Parking Supervisor, the responsibilities of a Security & Parking Officer 2 include: Administration of safety and security for the Music City Center/Nashville Convention Center customers, staff, and interior/exterior perimeter areas. This position requires standing and sitting for extended periods of time, extensive walking, the ability to ascend and descend several flights of stairs, and the ability to operate motor vehicles (driver's license required). This position will rotate duties during the shift and be required to monitor a Command/Dispatch Center. Knowledge of CCTV systems, incident management software, Microsoft Office Suite, fire alarm/suppression systems/software, and remote monitoring technology is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Loss Prevention
  • Ensuring safety & security of all patrons and staff
  • Ability to monitor multiple camera systems while managing incoming radio traffic, telephone calls, alarm systems and dispatching
  • High level of customer service and professionalism in all aspects of performance
  • Ability to walk the interior and exterior of the full facility while being observant, as well as being able to respond to and document activity.
  • Document and screen the entry and exit of guests, visitors, contract staff and team members.
  • Verify and affirm proper delivery procedures to MCC.
  • Ability to manage various alarm/building systems.
  • Conduct walkthroughs of exhibit halls to ensure compliance with life safety components.
  • Work and assist with parking detail as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and flexible shifts.

Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED required
  • One to three years Security Experience
  • One to three years Hospitality Experience

The 2.1 million square foot facility opened in 2013 and was built so that Nashville could host large, city-wide conventions in the downtown area.
