Ready to play a critical role in keeping a high-performance manufacturing operation running on schedule? We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Production Scheduling Clerk to support production control and scheduling activities within a fast-paced industrial environment. This role serves as a central coordination point across production, machine shop, inventory, and sales, ensuring schedules are accurate, materials are aligned, and operations flow efficiently from planning through execution.

The ideal candidate thrives in a structured, data-driven environment, communicates effectively across departments, and takes ownership of maintaining accurate schedules, resolving discrepancies, and supporting daily production execution.

 

The Production Scheduling Clerk is responsible for assembling, maintaining, and communicating daily production schedules while coordinating across departments to ensure timely and accurate execution of manufacturing operations. This role supports production visibility, inventory accuracy, and schedule adherence across the organization.  

  • Maintain and update daily production schedules, ensuring accuracy and real-time visibility across departments  
  • Coordinate with production supervisors to track and trace work through all stages of manufacturing  
  • Support machine shop scheduling and maintain system status for ongoing production activities  
  • Communicate schedule updates and changes to the Production Manager and key stakeholders  
  • Partner with Sales to provide accurate updates on customer order status  
  • Maintain inventory transactions tied to production orders and ensure alignment across systems  
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in manufacturing order quantities and scheduling conflicts  
  • Prepare and distribute production tags (core tags, pouring tags) for daily operations  
  • Input scrap data and generate reports to support production and quality tracking  
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure all scheduling data is audit-ready  

Requirements

 

  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education is a plus  
  • 6–12 months of experience in a manufacturing, production control, or scheduling environment preferred  
  • Strong data entry and computer system skills (ERP/MRP experience preferred)  
  • Ability to interpret production schedules, shop floor data, and basic technical documentation  
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across multiple levels of the organization  
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
