About this role

Meta seeks a commercial transactions lawyer who can effectively prioritize and manage work in a dynamic environment and can drive execution of contracts to support the network infrastructure team in the Asia Pacific region. In this role, you will handle negotiations for the build out and operation of infrastructure that is critical to Meta's services, business and AI aspirations. You will work closely with legal colleagues from various areas, tax, finance, and other teams to ensure our contracts are well-calibrated across relevant areas of risk and are reflective of the company's policies and risk tolerance. To succeed in this role, you will need to be able to manage competing priorities, have experience communicating complex legal and business matters clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders and be an effective negotiator.

Responsibilities

  • Structure, draft, and negotiate a broad range of agreements in support of the expansion of Meta's network infrastructure, including General Terms and Conditions for telecommunications services, colocation agreements, and dark fibre leases and IRUs
  • Support the negotiation of joint build agreements and supply contracts for the construction of fibre-optic cable systems
  • Use AI tools to leverage your capabilities and enhance productivity
  • Collaborate with other internal teams (e.g., Finance, Tax, Compliance) and external counsel to structure contract documentation to meet deployment needs
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with key clients and cross-functional partners
  • Provide practical business and legal advice aligned with company policies and risk tolerance


Minimum Qualifications

  • Meta requires all employed attorneys to have a law degree or equivalent certificate to permit the practice of law and be appropriately licensed and authorized to practice law for the company in their assigned work location. Unless prohibited under local law, an attorney must hold a current practicing certificate (including where required from the relevant authority in the jurisdiction of the assigned work location) or the local law equivalent bar registration or license as may be applicable
  • Law degree and practicing certificate (or equivalent), in a common law jurisdiction
  • 6+ years of post-qualification experience in commercial transactions, infrastructure, or telecommunications law
  • Prior in-house experience at a technology or telecommunications company
  • Experience structuring, drafting and negotiating technical infrastructure and/or telecommunications agreements
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills, along with excellent business judgment and strategic thinking
  • Experience working on cross-border transactions in the Asia-Pacific region
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing telecommunications and network infrastructure in APAC markets
  • Diligent, well-organized and able to manage numerous projects simultaneously under deadline pressure
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a commitment to professionalism and collegiality
  • Experience using AI tools to enhance legal workflows such as contract drafting, research, or review


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in managing and coordinating with external counsel across multiple jurisdictions
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
  • Experience with submarine cable systems, data center infrastructure, or large-scale network deployment projects
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
