Job Summary
The Assistant Service Inventory Specialist, Service Maintenance is responsible for all parts accountability and inventory that is issued to the shop technicians. Responsible for following and utilizing the standard policies and procedures outlined in the MESA Inventory SOP.
Essential Duties
Assist in ensuring the parts for the technicians are on hand and technicians are recording correct part numbers to their service orders. Follows up with technician to ensure the correct part numbers are entered into NAV.
Maintain close communication with shop technicians, shop lead and Field Inventory Specialist (FIS) in their location.
Record any discrepancies and communicate with FIS to find solutions to problems as they arise. Including missing inventory, incorrect part consumption, warranty, damages, and critical shortages.
Provides FIS in your location with the most accurate information on parts being taken to shop technicians and what is outstanding to be consumed.
Must maintain positive relationships with vendors and partners in the shop and field.
Assists FIS in identifying needs of the shop technicians, ensuring correct part numbers are being consumed.
Stock product in stock locations, keeping a clean and organized work space for all.
Label all inventory items in their locations and ensure the correct parts are readily available.
Assist FIS in keeping all assigned property in a positive controlled Onfre's at all time through the single point of issue process.
Act as the main point of contact for all shop needs, no technician in the shop should be grabbing inventory without associates knowledge.
Receive all inbound property within 24 hours upon carrier drop off.
All other duties assigned.

Any related inventory experience.
Honorably discharged service veterans are preferred.
Certifications, Licenses & Registrations
Required
Ability to obtain Crane and Forklift Certifications by the end of the probationary period. Individuals who do not meet this requirement due to a physical disability will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment.
Must be able to follow direction and complete tasks in the appropriate order.
Able to handle frequent interruptions and handle conflict in an effective manner.
Understanding of inventory control principles, stock rotation, and supply chain logistics.
Familiarity with inventory management systems (IMS) and ERP platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).
Knowledge of shipping, receiving, and warehouse procedures.
Awareness of safety regulations, loss prevention, and inventory audit standards.
Basic understanding of purchasing, forecasting, and demand planning concepts.
Accurate data entry and recordkeeping skills for tracking stock levels, movements, and discrepancies.
Proficient in using barcode scanners, handheld devices, and inventory software.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate inventory counts.
Effective communication skills for coordinating with purchasing, warehouse, and operations teams.
Basic analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate variances and inventory issues.
Ability to perform physical inventory tasks, including lifting, scanning, counting, and stock arrangement.
Work independently or as part of a team to meet cycle count and audit deadlines.
Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced warehouse or retail environment.
Recognize and report inventory irregularities or stock shortages proactively.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized storage environment.
Must be able to fluently speak, write, and read in English.
