Location: (On-site) Denver
Compensation: The hourly rate for this position starts at $32.46/hr.
“Off-scale hourly rates” and other components of pay, i.e., an hourly rate that is higher than the published system-wide hourly rate at the designated position grade, are offered when necessary to meet competitive conditions.
Deadline: The deadline for submitting applications for this position is September 15, 2026. Meow Wolf reserves the right to extend this deadline if needed.
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Facilities Manager you will support all aspects of the building facilities operations, perform maintenance and inspection routines, support the exhibition staff when they convey problematic facility findings and support the work of third party vendors to maintain and improve a fully functioning, safe and engaging exhibition and facility. The Facility Maintenance Technician will conduct all maintenance, inspection, repairs and improvements for the facilities (the exhibition site and offsite warehouse). You will play a strong role in identifying catastrophic building failures and suggesting methods to mitigate impact to the exhibition. You will be actively involved in suggesting ways that our carbon footprint and impact to our environment can be mitigated.
You are responsible to ensure that a high quality of work is performed and for entering preventative maintenance and inspection activities into the chosen Meow Wolf CMMS maintenance management software. You will perform frequent site inspections and regularly communicate with all members of the exhibition team.
Job Responsibilities:
Safely conduct maintenance repair, tasks, inspections and upkeep of all building systems including HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Suppression, Fire Safety, Electrical, structural, walls, floors and ceilings and others as defined by leadership to ensure the full functionality of the site on a regular and consistent basis.
Play a role in encouraging a professional, respectful and empowering work environment
Actively participate in a disposal, reuse, and recycling program taking a strong interest in the best interests of the environment as a whole.
Encourage, and maintain internal and cross-departmental communication
Play a role in providing a memorable and uniquely Meow Wolf level of service to guests and staff
Play a role in maintaining a high quality of vendor and supplier relationships
Support the tracking of inspections and maintenance details of Facility assets according to the maintenance policy
Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols
Work closely with contractors such as electricians, plumbers, HVAC, mechanics and technicians.
As necessary, respond to emergency calls for all alarm services or building emergencies.
Report on the use and low inventory of critical spare parts on hand to support the need for sufficient quantities
Follow the prescribed inspection schedule for checking the physical site and equipment for safety, cleanliness and good repair.

Required Qualifications:
3-5 Years of professional experience working in Building Facilities Maintenance, Commercial Construction, Commercial Trades, or Building Renovation in one or more of the following disciplines:
HVAC: Repair, Installation, Maintenance, Programming/scheduling, inspection,
Electrical: Repair, Installation, Maintenance, Inspection,
Plumbing: Repair, Installation, Maintenance, Inspection,
Life Safety: Fire Smoke Alarms/Sprinklers, Fire Pump/riser, Maintenance, Installation,
Construction: Framing, Drywall, Door/window Installation, Renovation
Strong mechanical, electrical and fabrication aptitude
Ability to read MEP plans, schematics and architectural drawings
Expertise in welding, power tools, shop tools and multifaceted fabrication, assembly, and mounting techniques
OSHA 10 certified or willingness to be trained
Strong respect of safe work practices, regulatory requirements and duty cycle needs of equipment, including proficiency in the safe and proper use of power equipment and tools, heavy and light machinery, and building materials.
Ability to respond with grace to multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment
Knowledge of facility standards, codes and regulations
Computer skills, including knowledge of Google Suite, maintenance software, and the ability to learn and apply new software applications.
Embody and demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, even in stressful and/or demanding situations.
Understand and follow oral and written instructions.
Communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
Prior work experience in a retail, museum, recreation facility, or other public space, or in a creative organization preferred
Certifications in aerial work platforms, working at heights, fall protection standards, welding, fire life safety, fork lift, rigging, Mechanical and Electrical preferred.
Ability to interpret site plans of the facility as it pertains to electrical, structural, MEP, etc is preferred.
CAD drafting skills preferred
A deep respect for safe working standards is required to work on site.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed must be representative of the knowledge, skills, minimum education, training, licensure, experience, and/or ability required.
This job primarily operates in an indoor setting with exposure to noisy environments, dim lighting, strong visual effects including strobing lights, special effects, smoke machines and small and/or enclosed spaces. Outdoor settings may also be required for special events or as needed for maintenance and troubleshooting. This position may work at heights at times and equipment and training will be provided.
Moving in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including small, enclosed spaces
Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
Positioning or moving objects up to 75 pounds
Use of maintenance tools and cleaning equipment, includes use of cleaning agents and chemicals
Use of lead free solder with smoke extraction required
Safely working at heights: Working in an aerial work platform, Climbing ladders, roof work

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position, working an average of 40 hours a week. It requires a flexible schedule to accommodate times the exhibit is closed to the public as well as normal operating hours. Evening, overnight and weekend work are required as job duties demand.
