Role Purpose 

Leads and directs the work of other deicing personnel and gives instruction, support and training to employees. Leads the team to apply de-icing fluid to commercial aircraft, perform quality control checks, and report on de-icing fluid transactions, driving and operating large specialized commercial vehicles at times and as such you will require a valid driver’s license with a clear driving record. 

What you will be doing 

 

  • Responsible for timely and efficient delivery of deicing services. 
  • Assist with the scheduling of employees. 
  • Responsible for checking aircraft for leading edge ice and frost. 
  • Apply deice fluid type 1 and 4 to aircraft wings, fuselage and tail. 
  • Responsible for driving large heavy vehicles around aircraft while deicing operation is being performed. 
  • Responsible for accurate accounting of deicing fluid transactions. 
  • Perform daily quality control checks on equipment and vehicles. 
  • Operate headset/radio to provide communication between ground crew, flight crew, and dispatch. 
  • Know and comply with all safety procedures. 
  • Able to meet the Station’s attendance standards.

What we are looking for: 

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Must Possess/maintain a valid driver’s license and other FFA Airport required identification/seals or authorizations 
  • Ability to proficiently read, write and speak English. 
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.  
  • Ability to effectively present information on a one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. 
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations, add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers. 
  • able to lift and move up to 70lbs. 
  • Work is done primarily outdoors; must be comfortable working in all weather conditions. 
  • Pass pre-employment drug screen, color vision test, background check, and all other required pre-employment screening 
  • Must Possess/maintain a valid driver’s license and other FFA Airport required identification/seals or authorizations 
  • Must pass background check and obtain US Customs seal 
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.  
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
