We are looking for a experienced mechanic to diagnose, repair and service the Menzies fleet of vehicles and other related equipment in accordance with Company and manufacturers work specifications ensuring safe work practices and operating procedures are adhered to.
Main accountabilities include:
- Receives work orders and obtains the necessary tools required for the repair.
- Transports vehicles to be repaired by driving, towing, or pushing into service bays.
- Vehicles may include tugs, forklifts, pay loaders, fuel trucks, and other airport vehicles.
- Inspects parts and/or motor vehicles to identify defective or broken parts.
- Repairs diesel engines, hydraulic, electric, and mechanical systems.
- Obtains replacement parts, installing and/or making repairs as required.
- Repairs may require rebuilding as assemblies, systems, etc.
- Confers with Supervisor for complex repairs that require direction or approval for ordering parts.
- Completes work orders and provides status updates on any open work orders.
- Ensures tasks are performed in accordance with the Company and Airlines specific procedures and policies.
- Required to attend the mandatory training imposed by the Company and Airlines as per job role.
- Additional duties may include changing batteries, tires, oil, and other minor repairs.
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by direct or indirect superior manager.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualified Mechanic, minimum 3-5 years related experience.
- Must have a valid 310S License
- Must have knowledge of heavy-duty diesel/automotive equipment.
- Experience with troubleshooting and repair of complex hydraulic and electrical systems required.
- Must have own tools and be able to operate various power and hand tools safely.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Must be flexible to work all hours/days including nights, weekends and holidays as dictated by operational requirements.
- Wider understanding of the airport operational environment
- Good communication skills, verbal and written
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age and legally able to work in Canada
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs., comfortable with bending, kneeling, pushing and pulling various items
- Must have valid G or G2 Driver’s license and be able to obtain and hold a valid DA
- Clean driving record with Drivers Abstract certified copy.
- Must be able to obtain and hold all required security clearances, including but not limited to a valid Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC
