Position Summary

Responsible for performing regular predictive and preventive maintenance; responding to unplanned equipment failures; planning and carrying out all other repairs, projects and company initiatives; and addressing needed or requested repairs across various areas (facilities, manufacturing equipment) of multiple facilities.

Essential Functions

  • Assembling, installing, and maintaining mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
  • Troubleshooting machinery and performing routine preventative maintenance.
  • Reading, interpreting, and following instructions and operation manuals.
  • Maintaining assigned schedules for inspecting, servicing, and testing machinery.
  • Cleaning, repairing and installing equipment and parts as needed.
  • Operating a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Reducing downtime through routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.
  • Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.
  • Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
  • Prepares mechanical maintenance reports by accurately collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and entering in CMMS system.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Travel requirements
  • Travel between multiple facilities, less than 10% (within 5-mile radius)
Education and Experience
  • High school degree or equivalent
  • 3 years relevant experience in a GxP environment
  • Experience working with machine tools or mechanical assembly
  • Working knowledge of safety protocols
  • Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred

Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Ability to climb ladders and work in permitted confined spaces
  • Ability to withstand prolonged periods standing, crouching, crawling and walking.
  • Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.
  • Must be able to visually inspect machines.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
