Adjunct Faculty - Academic Support - Nursing
About this role
The Center for Academic Success & Enrichment is seeking a part-time faculty (professional) tutor to support the School of Nursing – Worcester. The selected candidate will offer remote and/or in-person academic tutoring support to students enrolled in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing - Postbaccalaureate program.
- Provide supplemental tutoring support related to nursing coursework. Support includes but is not limited to: Foundations in Nursing and Health and Wellness IV: Advanced Med/Surg.
- Meet with students by appointment virtually/in a remote setting
- Provide work for students to do following tutoring session to check for understanding
- Collaborate with the applicable course instructor to determine plan of action for specific students (when applicable)
- Provide feedback to students specific to progression in subject matter
- Provide feedback to the program director as to student progress
Requirements:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse and a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN)
- Commitment to undergraduate and professional education and student success
- Demonstrates proficiency with educational and workplace technologies, including learning management systems, Microsoft 365 applications, student success platforms, and emerging digital tools
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels (students, faculty, administration/staff, alumni, and external constituents, including healthcare industry professionals)
Desired:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse with two years minimum experience
- A Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), five years of working experience
- Teaching or tutoring experience
