How can you make an impact?  
McGraw Hill, the leading provider of digital and print educational resources, is looking for an Academic Designer, Dual Literacy TK-8. As an Academic Designer, you will help plan and develop instructional materials for print and digital Dual Literacy products for TK-8 students and teachers. This includes textbooks, interactive activities, assessments, and teacher lesson plans.

 

This is a remote position open to applicants authorized to work for any employer within the United States. This is a Project Status Worker (PSW) role with an end date of 09/30/2027.

 

What you will be doing:  

  • Assisting in the development of elementary Dual Literacy  instructional materials available in print and/or digital formats.
  • Producing accurate, error-free, high-quality instructional materials that meet curriculum standards and display appropriate reading level, grammar, and style.
  • Following approved workflows at all stages of development and meeting all intermediate and final schedule dates.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure that market requirements, project schedules, and product goals are met.
  • Demonstrating effective organizational and excellent time management skills; the ability to prioritize, multitask, and exhibit flexibility to rapidly changing priorities and demands in an Agile work environment.

  

We’re looking for someone with:

  • A Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a major in Education, Communications, or Hispanic Languages and Literature, with native Spanish-speaking ability highly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in educational publishing and/or significant editorial experience.
  • Experience working with digital curriculum development and digital educational products.
  • Great organizational skills, with propensity for hitting deadlines while managing multiple projects.
  • Experience working with Jira to manage sprint backlogs, track progress, and report on key agile metrics is desired, but not required.
  • Ability to adapt to changing requirements and prioritize the product backlog based on customer feedback and business value.
  • Classroom teaching experience is desired but not required.

The pay range for this position is between $54,500-$62,000 annually. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.  Additionally, a full range of medical and/or other benefits may be provided, depending on the position offered.
